Dr Md Tariqul Islam is an Australian citizen with fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). He is ECFMG certified (United States of America) and also a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians(CCFP). Dr Islam has worked in various hospitals across Wellington, New Zealand, before moving to Sydney in 2000. Dr Islam has worked as a registrar in various specialties including Plastic Surgery, General Medicine, Psychiatry and Emergency at Canberra Hospital, Flinders University Hospital as well as Gold Coast University Hospitals for several years.

Dr Islam completed his postgraduate Diploma training in preventive medicine & public health (DPH, NZ), paediatrics (DCH, University of Sydney) and obstetrics and gynaecology (DRANZCOG, Canberra) before moving into general practice and settling on the Gold Coast. Dr Islam completed his fellowship in General Practice in 2012 and is a clinical examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) as well as a supervisor for the Australian GP registrar program. He is also an examiner (GUMSAA, Year 2,3 & 4) at the Griffith University Medical School, Gold Coast Campus, QLD and a Supervisor of Medical students, Griffith University and Bond University, QLD.
